I read a little of everything, but mostly Fantasy or Science Fiction. My usual answer for "Who would you recommend?" is Mercedes Lackey or Jim Butcher. Here are some of my other favorites.
Terrier: The Legend of Beka Cooper #1 (Paperback)$9.99 ISBN-13: 9780375838163Availability: On Our Shelves Now Published: Random House Books for Young Readers, 10/01/2007 Ive enjoyed Tamora Pierce's books before, but I loved Terrier! I couldn't wait to see what happened to Beka Cooper next!
Speak (Paperback)$10.00 ISBN-13: 9780142407325Availability: Usually Ships in 1-5 days Published: Speak, 05/01/2006 I used to work with Laurie, and I would regularly give her a rough time about this book. It's one of only two in my life that I've wanted to reach into the book and have it out with a character. It's just that realistically written!
Comes the Blind Fury (Mass Market Paperback)$7.99 ISBN-13: 9780440114758Availability: Special Order - Subject to Availability Published: Dell, 05/01/1990 This book scared me silly when I read it. Just when you think you're safe, Nope! I recommend this more than Stephen King, and I love King!
Dead Witch Walking (Mass Market Paperback)$7.99 ISBN-13: 9780060572969Availability: Usually Ships in 1-5 days Published: Eos, 05/01/2004 Rachel Morgan is a character I fell in love with right away. Kim Harrison is quickly becoming my third "Who would you recommend" author.
Life in a Plains Camp (Paperback)$8.95 ISBN-13: 9780778704614Availability: Special Order - Subject to Availability Published: Crabtree Publishing Company, 03/01/2001 Ive always been facinated with Plains tribes, and this is a good book to learn about them.
I Am Legend (Paperback)$14.95 ISBN-13: 9780312865047Availability: On Our Shelves Now Published: Orb Books, 10/01/1997 I have this book in hard cover, and I adore it. It's a great take on the vampire legend, and it's a great story about a man facing the end of Humanity as he knows it.
