Two YA authors talk about their paths to publication, their books and where fantasy and reality can meet. Open Q& A about writing and publishing throughout.

Cyn Balog's debut young adult novel, FAIRY TALE (Delacorte), was a 2009 finalist for the Romance Writers of America's RITA, honoring the best in romantic fiction.  She is also the author of the young adult paranormal romances SLEEPLESS (2010) and STARSTRUCK (coming in July 2011). A.S. King (you can call her Amy) has recently returned to the U.S. after a decade in Ireland. Her novel Please Ignore Vera Dietz (Knopf 2010) has enjoyed wide critical acclaim and is a Junior Library Guild selection, an Indie Next pick, and was named one of Kirkus Reviews Best Children's Books and Young Adult Books of 2010. Her debut, The Dust of 100 Dogs, was an Indie Next pick, a Cybils finalist, and a YALSA Best Book for Young Adults. Her next novel, Everybody Sees the Ants, is coming in Fall 2011.
