We are happy to announce our new, interactive club where Lego enthusiasts can work together to try ideas from The Big Book of Ideas. We will supply the Legos so no one loses track of what they brought. However, you are welcome to trade and barter while you are here.

This program is for kids 6 and up and registration is required.

7th Annual Community Summit

Harleysville Books is proud to work with The Greater North Penn Collaborative for Health and Human Services on the 7th Annual Community Summit being held at Branch Community Church on May 23rd.

Throughout the day, experience graphic representations of collective work in our community as well the individual creativity of some of our neighbors. Organizations are encouraged to register three consumers, clients, or others served by you, along with staff and board members. These voices will enrich the conversations.

Guest Presenter: Peter Block

Peter Block is an author and citizen of Cincinnati, Ohio. He is a partner in Designed Learning, a training compess any that offers workshops designed to build the skills outlined in his books. He is the author of Flawless Consulting, Stewardship, The Answer to How Is yes, Community: The Structure of Belonging and The Abundant Community. Peter serves on the boards of Elementz, a hip hop center for urban youth, Cincinnati Public Radio, and Live Person, a provider of online engagement solutions. His work centers on the restoration of communities and creating systems that restore our humanity.

Our story time is the perfect way to introduce your pre-schooler to the world of books. Each week our program will include our staff introducing your child to 2-3 latest picture books, songs or fingerplays. When possible, a short activity will be included. At the end of the program your child will receive a cookie.

This program is most appropriate for children ages 2-5 years old, but siblings younger and older are always welcome.

The cost of this program is $2 per child, with a maximum of $5 per family. Advance registration is not required.

Guys Book Club

If you have an 8 to 12 year old guy who likes to read, or needs help getting excited about reading - this club is for him! We'll be meeting once a month for book-related fun and games, guaranteed to get your guy reading in no time.

Reading of the book is not mandatory prior to the discussion, but purchase of the book, or a $5.00 participation fee are required to be a part of this exciting, new club.

This month's book choice is Mr. Chickee's Messy Mission by Christopher Paul Curtis.
