| Q: How do I get started? A: Once you read these FAQs, please read our Affiliate Program Agreement. Click on the "Accept" button at the end of the Agreement, and you will be automatically brought to the Online Enrollment Form. Complete the enrollment form, and we'll email you your unique Affiliate ID Name and further information. Q: How do I set up the links to Harleysville Books? A: See Linking and Logo Downloading Instructions. Q: Can I use the Harleysville Books logo on my site? A: If you're a Harleysville Books affiliate, yes. In fact, we request that you do! If, however, space restricts the use of a logo, please add a line of text that reads substantially as follows: "Support your local independent bookseller". See the Linking and Logo Downloading Instructions for more details. Q: How does the Harleysville Books Affiliate Program work? A: It's a simple and straightforward process. You begin by setting up a link on your website. (You can create a link to the product page for a book you're featuring on your site, or to our home page. The choice is yours.) When a visitor to your site clicks on the Harleysville Books link, they'll enter our website, where they can order books directly from Harleysville Books. All books ordered by visitors that come to us by way of your site are tracked, so that you will receive a commission for each sale. The best part is that becoming an Affiliate of the Harleysville Books community costs you nothing! Q: Is my site eligible to become a Harleysville Books Affiliate? A: Anyone with a qualified website can become a Harleysville Books Affiliate. All you have to do is complete our easy Online Enrollment. We reserve the right to reject your application if it discriminates against others or advocates illegal activities. You must also agree to the terms of the Affiliate Program Agreement. Q: What does it cost me to join? A: Nothing! Becoming an Affiliate costs you only the few minutes it will take you to set up a link. Q: How much will I be paid? A: You will be paid a percentage of each sale with the percentages increasing as net sales increase: •5 1/2% up to $50,000 of net sales; 6% up to $500,000 of net sales; and 7% for all amounts thereafter. •Sales amounts accrue for the duration of your affiliation, and do not revert to the lowest rate after each year of your affiliation (see question below for further information). Q: How is the Harleysville Books Affiliate Program different from the other bookseller affiliate programs? A: Unlike other bookseller affiliate programs, the Harleysville Books Affiliate Program does not reserve commissions for returns. This means that even if a visitor from your website orders a book from our website and returns it at a later date, you still earn your normal commission fees. Plus, our increasing scale percentage rate runs over the whole term of your affiliation with us, and unlike most affiliate programs does not revert to the lowest percentage rate every 12 months. In other words, once you reach a 7% commission of net sales, you will never be dropped down to a lower percentage, whatever your future net sales may be. Q: How are orders tracked and credited to my site? A: Each link on your website to our home page or to a specific product page contains your individual Affiliate ID Name. When a customer orders a book from our website, the Affiliate ID Name will tell us which website sent them. Q: Can authors and publishers link to Harleysville Books A: Sure, we encourage it. But unless we're the exclusive bookseller, we can't pay fees. Q: Can websites outside the United States join the program? A: Yes. Our bookstores ship all over the world. Q: What is my responsibility as a Harleysville Books Affiliate? A: To feature as many books as you'd like on your website, and then place your links accurately to either their product pages or our home page. When you create links through book jackets or text lines, you are obligated to place our store logo on the same page. Q: What is your responsibility to me? A: To track sales, fulfill orders, handle customer service issues, pay and account to you. |
